Peta Clarkson

M.D Psychiatrist

Dr Peta Clarkson is a board certified psychiatrist in general, child and adolescent psychiatry with 20 years experience.
I like to provide an accepting, trusting and down to earth atmosphere.
I can relate to the need for adaptation and the choice for mastering well-being.

My Approach

I allow for a more personalized approach to fit your needs.

No matter what the conditions are, we have an inherent capacity towards fulfilling our potential.

My child psychiatry experience provides a road map from infancy to adulthood. Present difficulties can be understood with the past in mind. We jointly find new ways to move forward, building on strengths, supports, successes, beliefs and adaptive behaviors.

A comprehensive approach may include medication, diet, exercise, sleep management and activities that enhance self-care and growth. I consult with other physicians and therapists and spend time thinking about my patients.

My approach with medications is systematic and careful and requires regular monitoring of response and side effects. Appointments are more frequent in the beginning to assess the suitability of a medication and to make adjustments accordingly.

Medications can be very effective in combination with therapy.

Why Telepsychiatry?

In the current circumstances, Telepsychiatry helps provide ease of access, convenience and flexibility. It allows me to see patients in the comfort of their home or office. We will conduct the sessions through Zoom.
